Use the back of a spoon or pencil eraser to gently push the wire against the tooth. If this doesn't resolve the issue, apply dental wax over the area and call our office for a more permanent fix.
Over-the-counter pain relievers such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen can be effective. Rinsing with warm salt water can also help relieve oral discomfort.
If you lose an aligner, immediately switch to your previous aligner if available and contact our office as soon as possible to discuss the next steps or to order a replacement.
Soreness after adjustments is normal. Soft foods and over-the-counter pain relievers can help, as can rinsing with a saltwater solution.
